Two classes will be cancelled this weekend.
All other classes will remain as scheduled. Classes to chose from this weekend:
Prana is a Sanskrit word that is commonly translated as "breath", "life force", "spirit", "energy", referring to the mystery that sustains all of life. This class is a creative form of vinyasa that fuses several styles of yoga asana that explores movement cultivated in the moment to work with the needs of the student and the energy of the day. We work with the prana vayus (contraction, expansion, grounding, and lifting forces) to make the asana as potent as possible. These classes are a flowing style of yoga that also include pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. Prana vinyasa classes are kept between 75-85 degrees.
Hot Yoga is a fun, challenging and engaging yoga series that provides a total body workout. This class consists of a set series of poses that focuses on balance and spinal strength in a studio heated to around 110-120 degrees. Hot Yoga balances the body and its major systems (respiratory, circulatory, muscular, digestive, excretory, nervous, and endocrine), rejuvenating and restoring overall health. The heat creates a safe environment for stretching the body and gently promotes the detoxifying process.
Come experience this powerful class designed to quiet down, de-compress, let go, and heal. Class begins with several simple long-held asanas (yoga postures, each asana is held three to ten minutes) for deep relaxation and eradication of stress and toxins accumulated in our muscles, ligaments, bones, joints and internal organs. After opening and quieting down our body, we begin our seated meditation to access our mind. Saiko will guide you through several meditation techniques. After each class, you will walk out of the door with enlightened lungs, a spacious body, and a clearer mental state, which is amazingly light, content and full. All levels welcome.
Part of proceedings of this class goes to Yoga Behind Bars, a non-profit organisation offering yoga and meditation to prisoners and populations "at-risk" to specifically facilitate therapeutic, conscious human development. Our goal is to provide a unique opportunity for rehabilitation to those in need through compassion and devotion to the path of yoga. More details : http://www.yogabehindbars.com
